Following today’s Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearing regarding regulatory impediments to job creation, Representative Trey Gowdy (SC-04) released the following statement.
“Abdicating Congress’ authority to promulgate rules and regulations represents a disappointing failure of leadership. The practice of delegating a duty with such wide-ranging implications on our country’s businesses must stop, and today’s hearing is a good start,” Representative Gowdy said.
“Removing burdensome regulatory impediments is a key component of our strategy to create sustainable job growth, and meaningful reform will ensure unintended consequences and mechanisms designed to avoid Congressional oversight are not holding back our potential for real economic recovery,” Gowdy continued. “I enjoyed hearing first hand from business leaders impacted by onerous regulations, and look forward to continuing the process of limiting governmental interference with the private sector.”
